My group’s research is focused on investigating the pathogenic mechanisms underlying systemic autoimmune diseases. We are interested in identifying the cells and molecular pathways mediating autoimmunity and end organ pathology in these disorders. Questions we are trying to address include understanding the pathogenic role of myeloid cells and how nucleic acid sensing pathways influence autoimmunity. In addition, we are interested in exploring the potential clinical benefit of interfering with these cellular and molecular pathways.
